What is Traumatic Incident Reduction?
Traumatic Incident Reduction is the best way of getting rid of unwanted feelings, whether they are caused by huge painful life events or tiny little incidents that you no longer remember. With Traumatic Incident Reduction we find the memories that are causing you stress or other unwanted feelings and we view them until they become just normal memories without any power to hurt you or control you any more. All this happens in a completely safe environment, one free from judgement, distractions or interpretations. I am not a therapist or counsellor: I am called a Facilitator, because my aim is to help you whilst leaving you in full control.
Traumatic Incident Reduction is a very rapid treatment compared to traditional therapies. Treatment can be as short as just one session per incident. It is also extremely effective, with nearly everyone achieving what they set out to achieve and in fact being permanently cured or rid of unwanted feelings. This is down to some key differences between Traumatic Incident Reduction and traditional coping and cathartic therapies.
- Traumatic Incident Reduction is not run on a clinical hour. Instead, your session continues until you reach an endpoint, where you feel better and your incident has been resolved.
- Traumatic Incident Reduction is person centred. This means you decide what you want to work on, and you are not forced to do or think about anything you are not ready for.
- We don’t need to know the cause of your unwanted feelings before you start a session. We can use unlayering techniques to help you discover a root incident, or we can work straight from the last situation where you had these unwanted feelings e.g. the last time you were scared of a spider.
